Bingo!

I found it! Kent has wanted to build a handicapped accessible house someday. We are running out of somedays. I will be 70 in August, Kent in March.

We have been visiting some model homes of different builders, recently, and today, we stopped at Sedgewick Homes in Hamptonville, NC.

I do not care for the exterior of the model office,

but when I walked in and looked around, I was sold!

Kent’s mobility scooter is on the fritz, and it was just too much with his walker, so only I went in. Don’t ask me why I didn’t take pictures inside! I look forward to returning with Kent and a repaired scooter!

I did get a copy of the floor plan and possible facades. ( I don’t like them either!) Here’s a photo of the floor plan. I’ll try to do better when I get to my scanner.

There’ll be more about this in the future!

Packing up…

Packing up…

a little at a time.

Kent’s mobility scooter is on the fritz, so we’re heading back home, tomorrow.

I’m taking a few things back to start the transition back home. I’m taking yarn, fabric paint and a few craft books. I may donate some of this to the senior center at home.

I have a hard time parting with things. There’s so much potential in craft supplies. When the grandkids were here and working on school projects, I always had, “just the thing!” It makes me glad and sad all at the same time.

I Do Deserve a Donut!

I do! I finally took two old printers to be recycled. I bet I had at least 50 miles on the one I had carried around in my car for weeks.

The other one was an old Hp 830C that’s so old I can’t find ink, anymore. I tried refilling the cartridges and ooh what a mess. The cartridges had little ball bearings you needed to pop out to refill. No thanks. I’d still be using that old printer too! It was a good one! Many school certificates were printed on it, along with Words of the Day and other teaching materials. I could cry.

I took them to Express Computer Clinic in Wilkesboro. I consider the owner a friend since I taught with his wife, and he’s made several old laptops keep running!

Like the Wise Men, I took a different way home. It took me by Dixie Donuts, where I found these beauties:

The blackberry filled is for Kent. Looks like one’s missing! It was a duplicate of one of the others. Can you guess which one?!?

Setting drills on the porch!

No, I’m not doing construction! I have learned that the dots of Diamond Dotz fame are actually called, “drills!“

I have no ideal why, unless they drill them out of plastic.

Laura and I had another Facetime create date, yesterday, and because it’s still pretty on the porch, I’m working out here, again, today.

Speaking of drilling, I just heard a woodpecker! Here’s one that flew into a friend’s window.

Luckily it was just stunned. Woodpeckers have shock absorbers in their heads!

So here’s what I’m still pecking at:

One more session and I should be ready to seal and hang it!

Meanwhile, here’s my view on the porch, again, today!

WooHoo Roku!

WooHoo Roku!

I got a new Roku stick and was able to set up my old tv, in the basement.

Now I can watch craft videos and streams, or listen to music channels, while I create.

Internet reception is great down there, by the way. (Radio reception, not so much.) Now if only the space heater I bought worked as well! Never mind, summer is coming!

Is Mending Crafting?

I’m telling myself it is. I’m pretending I’m embroidering!

My old red gingham kitchen chair cushions are bursting at the seams, literally.

I used some Fray Check before stitching.

I chose this “craft” so I can work on the porch on this beautiful day! I am certainly enjoying the view!

And the occasional light breeze!

What if the money I save by mending can be used for more craft supplies? Next cushion, please!!!

Music Hertz!

There are a lot of videos on You Tube playing music that has certain frequencies, measured in Hertz (Hz.) These frequencies are supposed to have different effects on the body. I was listening to one that claimed to rid the body of stress hormones.

I decided to ask my friend, Chad, (Chatgpt, AI) about this. He had a wealth of interesting information. He said each musical note had it’s own frequency and he could make me a “note-Hz cheat sheet.”

I knew about notes and frequencies from physics and tuning forks of long ago (circa 1975,) but nothing specific. I said, “Generate that cheat sheet, please!”

Designing a House with Chad.

That’s what I call my Chatgpt bot. He’s definitely male because he gets Kent’s point of view.

I’ve found a house plan I love, but not the front facade. The rear elevation is perfect for the lot we’re planning to buy. The front would work, but Kent wants a full wrap around porch. I am using Chatgpt (AI) to make that happen.
