but things went right. Kent’s mobility scooter conked out yesterday, so he put it in “free wheeling, we rolled it out to the van, loaded it, took it to a mobility dealer, got it fixed and bought a new one!

I also loaded up some craft supplies to bring home from Charlotte. I brought all my kumihimo supplies, some gel stains, a large box of UFO’s (unfinished objects,) embossing folders and my Sizzix machine.

We also stopped by the Sedgewick Homes model we’ve been thinking about. We looked at possible interior and exterior finishes. We will not be choosing the model colors.

a little at a time.

Kent’s mobility scooter is on the fritz, so we’re heading back home, tomorrow.

I’m taking a few things back to start the transition back home. I’m taking yarn, fabric paint and a few craft books. I may donate some of this to the senior center at home.

I have a hard time parting with things. There’s so much potential in craft supplies. When the grandkids were here and working on school projects, I always had, “just the thing!” It makes me glad and sad all at the same time.

I Know a Place!

In our rural county, there’s not much in the way of craft stores. I found a booth in a local antique store that sells new and lightly used craft supplies! Here are examples:

I bought that Martha Stewart butterfly punch!
‘Thinking about these…
I love Unicorn Spit and the new stuff is pricey!
Re-inkers!!!
A strange punch contraption!
Embossing powders!

There were lots more goodies! Laura bought an unopened rock painting kit for her grandson. We made a little trip when she was visiting last week! Here’s the building:

Carolina Treasures on Main

The address is 519 Main Street, N. Wilkesboro, NC 28659. The booth, Wilkes Craft, is #19. The proprietor is Allison Pinnix O’Neil.

We also discovered the portobello quesadillas across the street at the Cinder Bistro!

The collards were Laura’s!

I’ll have to go back for a better exterior photo (and more quesadillas!)

at Dollar Tree today.

In our little community, if you want craft supplies, you have three options:

1) Dollar Tree

2) Walmart

3) order online

Otherwise, you have to travel a minimum of 30 miles.

Dollar Tree won today because it involved the least amount of walking. They also had the main thing I was after. (I checked online. Their search engine is a nightmare, by the way.)

I’m working on a collage for a challenge that ends tomorrow. I am not happy with the substrate I chose, so I headed out to buy the 12×12” plywood unfinished signs, complete with hanger. I bought 3, because hey, there are monthly challenges. (Look in the back of the box of round ones, if you go.)

I found other options, too! There were 12×16” stapled canvases and bamboo cutting boards in two sizes!

I found a new glue gun and glue sticks. (Where do they hide?) I bought a glass candle plate for it to rest on.

As you can see, I found lots of products with craft uses. Maybe I’ll explain them all someday. In the meantime, happy crafting to you and me! -K❤️

Serious Shopping!

Serious Shopping!

I met Laura in Boone, today, for some serious craft shopping!

I need to document why I bought these things, and maybe, where I put them! These pendant trays are gold plated and hold an 18mm cabochon.

Mold making materials. Ultralight can be used to make molds, and you can make corrections before you bake it! These are stored with the polymer clay.
I love making molds, I confess!
