Another Friday Finish!
The image is a momigamied page from a local magazine, mounted on white metallic painted tissue, mounted on canvas board painted metallic blue.
Instead of using oil, as in traditional momigami, I dry brushed some of the white metallic paint and added tiny specks of iridescent white glitter glue.
I made the paddle with a piece of dowel and polymer clay. The wave at the bottom is made of silver tube beads laid end to end.
The hanging cord is a piece of salvaged ear wire. The paddle is secured with pieces of braided “mini rope.”
The whole piece is finished with 7coats of clear gloss spray. I also gave it a couple of shots of UV Preserve before adding the gloss spray.
It is signed and dated with my K♥️ signature under one loose corner of the momigamied image.
Another Great Get Together!
On Friday, April 12, her birthday, Laura and I took an enameling class at the River Arts District in Asheville, NC.This is Laura’s:This is mine:
When the class was over, we wandered through that part of the district (it’s a big place!) and then drove to Fresh West, a wood-fired pizza place.
These colorful shops were more studios.I wish I’d gotten a photo of their oven. It was a huge black mound encrusted with glass and tile mosaics. I’ll have to go back. This has nothing to do with it!
On Saturday, we left out early to visit the Blue Ridge Polymer Clay Guild in Arden, NC, not far from Asheville.
Giveaways
I have decided to give away a lot of my handmade jewelry. I’m giving this away, tonight.
I have a shop page through facebook and Shopify. It’s also called “Karla Krafts.” It doesn’t get much traffic, and there have been order notification and payment processing problems, but I think, hope, that’s fixed.
