OUCH!

OUCH!

I had Moh’s surgery (layer by layer skin removal) on my face today.  I had a basal cell carcinoma removed. There’s a lot of wait time between layers, so I got some crafting done. I knitted an entire dish cloth and worked on my current cross-stitch project. When I locate my camera, I’ll post pix (of my work, not my face!)

I don’t know if I’ll ever get the ins and outs of my camera, but I’ve been working on the macrozoom. The supermacro mode makes the lens stay in a fixed position, so you’ve got to manually adjust the camera to get the shot. I did pretty well with this shamrock blossom. Can you see the tiny ants?

Beads, Beads, Beads!

I just got a new shipment from Fire Mountain Gems! I’ve been wanting to beadpoint some snowflakes and try a new bracelet design. I ordered beads (mainly seed beads) in every shade of white, crystal and grey that I could find. Except for the Delicas named Luster Snowflake and Crystal White Ice which look mint green, I am very pleased with my selection (some of which were less than $1.00!)

Fancy Gap Pottery and Antiques has replaced their antique mall with a huge fabric outlet. Laura bought lots of yellow and blue quilter’s cotton to finish an Ohio star quilt. I bought lots of ribbon at 25 cents/spool!

This is Mountain Plains Fabrics and surrounding lovliness. I found red velvet for $6.50 a yard and some double pointed knitting needles I needed, among other things. They had buttons by the bucket, too!
