Florida Quilt Show

Florida Quilt Show

I was fortunate to visit the Florida Cabin Fever Quilters’ show last Saturday with my friend, Nancy McNeill who lives in Winter Garden. I didn’t take my camera, I’m not sure of the protocol for photographing other people’s work, and I wish I had. They had the funniest display of embellished bras. Maybe the guild will post photos on their website: www.floridacabinfever.com

New Craft Book, New Craft!

New Craft Book, New Craft!

This is one of the craft books I ordered from Crafter’s Choice’s great sale. I can’t wait to try metal clay. However, I’m going to try to restrain myself. I am terrible about buying craft supplies and then not using them. So, “No new materials until I’ve used up some old!”

I need to pour some Valentine’s Day soaps. Maybe when I’ve got them packaged, I can order some silver clay and supplies. I have a blow torch somewhere in my old teacher stuff in the basement. If I can’t locate it, I’ll just ask for a blow torch for Valentine’s Day. Some hot gift, huh?

The book looks great by the way, very inspiring!

Cute Cap!

Cute Cap!

Look what a cute cap this yarn created! I am so thrilled with how it turned out! I wonder what it would do if I used circular needles? It’s Bertnat Baby Jacquards in “Boo Berries!”

That’s my model, Petula, by the way. I think she’s a La Baby. (Amazon.com has an amazing offering of La Baby dolls.) Her head is 14″ in circumference. According to my internet research, that’s the average for a newborn.

The ladies in the craft department at Walmart got a big kick out of me when I carried her back there to measure her head. They’re kind of used to me, though. Walmart is the only source of craft supplies in town right now. I’m a frequent visitor.
