I’ve been called worse! I’m sure there are molds out there for calibrated cabochons. I might even have some in a safe place! In any event, I made these!
24mm, 30mm and 35mm. I can’t wait to twist up some ploymer clay colors and make cabs! Oooh, and how about some resin?!?
It’s called ColorMixr, and it’s for polymer clay. I think you could use it for beads and fabrics and paints, and here are some color palettes I’ve created. 
These are all taken from photographs. Let me show you the geisha.
I look for Asian images to use with kumihimo, and she was in my photo gallery. In the app, you have these options:
I clicked on, “Image from gallery, and my photos opened. I chose the geisha and this is what the app did with it.
It isolated five areas from the photo, and created a palette at the bottom. Three of the areas were black, and I didn’t need them, so I moved those spots to another colored area. You just touch them on the screen and drag them where you want.
Now I could use these colors to choose cords for kumihimo, or fabrics for a quilt, or paints to recreate the image.
ColorMixer goes a step further and gives recipes for mixing polymer clay to get these colors. Then, I could sculpt her! 
The app has a grid you can download for measuring “parts.”
The next screen will allow you to save your palette and when it saves the palette, you can name it.
It will also save your photo and the color recipes to your photo gallery on whatever device you are using. I am using iPhone.
What else the app can do, I have yet to discover, but I’m looking forward to it!
The app was developed by Nancy Urlich, and at this writing, is free! Find it in whichever app store you use. Look for, “ColorMixr,” and have fun!
My primary workspace at Mama’s House is the kitchen counter. I need to clear it so I can empty the upper cabinets, clean and reline them. I create a little, too, while I’m at it. Today’s play:

Did I say I like making molds? I like using them, too!
On Friday, April 12, her birthday, Laura and I took an enameling class at the River Arts District in Asheville, NC.

When the class was over, we wandered through that part of the district (it’s a big place!) and then drove to Fresh West, a wood-fired pizza place. 
These colorful shops were more studios.
I wish I’d gotten a photo of their oven. It was a huge black mound encrusted with glass and tile mosaics. I’ll have to go back. This has nothing to do with it!
On Saturday, we left out early to visit the Blue Ridge Polymer Clay Guild in Arden, NC, not far from Asheville.
I’m trying to design a bead strand from which to hang my polymer clay butterfly. The scale is all wrong here. The beads are too fat! Back to the drawing (bead) board!
I think this 14k gold-plated chain and a jump ring might be all the butterfly needs. 
The bail is 18k.
Laura Sheaffer and I have some good girlfriend’s get togethers, and this one was no exception. We know how to party, and by party, I mean feast, craft and laugh!
We ate at our favorite restaurant from college, twice, and found a new cupcakery! We worked and played in polymer clay, we took a quilling class from my sister-in-law, Pam McLean, and made new friends!
Oops, I almost forgot, we shopped!
I didn’t like the first set of mirror images so I sliced one again and made another bead that I sliced into two beads.
The other half I played with, rolling and cutting cabochons and different sized beads.
The last one, lower center, got smushed and rolled too many times. It started to get “muddy.”

That was Friday. On Saturday, we traveled to nearby Elkin to take my sister-in-law’s quilling class. This is my multi-talented sister-in-law, Pamela McLean. You should hear her sing!

Did I mention, we shopped? Michael’s had their green label beads 70% off, and I couldn’t resist, as usual. That makes them ~ $1.80/strand.
Those big wooden beads will hopefully be bases for polymer clay “veneers!”
I also bought some cookie cutters and a fondant mold to use with my clay!
