Making Buttons…

Making Buttons…

like crazy this holiday weekend!

I’m making shanks from copper wire using bailing pliers.
The yellow molds I made myself. The others are commercial. The little mushrooms and courage bear are hand sculpted.

These flowers will need to be trimmed down before becoming buttons. I’ll also highlight the details with mica powder before baking.

A Crafty Day

A Crafty Day

I was asked to cover a box for the neighborhood food drive here in Charlotte. I finished and delivered it today.

I replaced a clasp on Adrianne’s necklace.

I treated myself to a trip to Michael’s.

The sales and coupons and clearance were great! They had molds ($1) and stencils and stamps, oh my! I used my coupon on that UV lamp!

I rubbed my new color-change mica on embossed card stock. ‘Slightly disappointed in this one.

In all, a good day, just the same!

Another Experiment

Another Experiment

I tried out the rubber latex moldmaking material I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby. I made a mold of the bottom of this bowl. The latex looks like thick white glue, but smells horrible. I used it under the exhaust fan above Mama’s stove top.

Instructions say apply with a paint brush, at least 3 coats, allowing each coat to dry. Three days later, I have this:Decent impression, still stinks!
