Hurray for Carolyn Cybik!

Hurray for Carolyn Cybik!

I just opened my order from Evening Star Designs! I am planning a project for a friend who requested “earth tones,” specifically burgundy, browns and blues. I ordered a “Customer’s Choice” Fancy Fabric Pack from Carolyn, and this is what she put together for me! Rich, rich, rich! I may have to have a glass of milk it’s so rich! She even included a square of that velveteen I love so much!

The cost: $9.99! Imagine what it would cost me in time, money and gasoline to run around hunting 10 fabrics in these colors. Carolyn, honey, I love you!

Here’s a link to her shop, again: http://www.eveningstardesigns.citymax.com/

I stopped back by the Carolina Fabric Outlet on my way back from Sylva and asked if I could take photos of their wonderful shop for my blog. A very tiny sweet lady told me I might not want to because the property had been sold to a developer and they might not be there much longer. She said she didn’t know if the owner would relocate or just give up the shop. I was very disappointed, so I bought up several goodies; leather scraps and satin cording, pearl embellished lace and some discounted velvet while I was there.

I at least took a photo of the outside. If you’re traveling I-40 near Asheville, NC, stop at exit 59 in Swannanoa, and take advantage of this wonderful shop before it’s gone.

I was travelling along I-40 on my way to Sylva, NC on Tuesday. Just past Black Mountain, I spotted a sign, “Carolina Fabric Outlet.” I kept an eye out and found it! Just off exit 59 in Swannanoa, this fabric outlet has a fantastic selection. It’s big, but not overwhelming like Mary Jo’s in Gastonia. And if you need upholstery and decorating fabric, I saw some of the same selections I had seen in The ABC Home Store in Manhattan! I wish I’d taken pictures. I’ll try to stop on my way home and snap a few.
